Summary: The Technology Technician Level 2 is a critical role within Boston Renaissance Charter Public School responsible for providing support to networking equipment across the District. This work includes management of Active Directory VoIP phone system security network anti-virus solution and the administration of various programs used throughout the school. The technician will serve as the second line of support for the Technology Department. This position is distinguished from the Technology Technician by its focus on overall network level support and troubleshooting of escalated in managing Active Directory network servers VoIP security antivirus backup virtualization windows server os firewalls and wireless with maintaining network security to protect against viruses malware and in providing hands-on support for all servers and networking up/configures new or existing technology end users of software such as but not limited to: MS Office Google Apps for Education and other hands-on hardware software telephone and email support to common chromebook computer software problems accurate and timely records of help desk support calls/emails and documented software applications PCs printers telephones and other and supports wireless hardware and software upgrades as and records all repairs and end user requests in said ticket system research communicate coordinate new technologies independently or working with internal IT staff or outside contractors as unusual conditions or situations to the attention of the Technology and prioritizes tasks via a Help Desk ticket department project-based work as end users in the use of applications and peripheral duties as assigned by the Information Technology Skills/Abilities:Work independently in a fast-paced environment juggling many tasks and requests from school usersCommunicate effectively with users of varying technological prioritize and troubleshoot a large volume of to learn new technologies and willingness to apply problem solving and troubleshooting and Experience:Working knowledge of Chromebooks PC operating systems desktop applications and desktop imaging and configuration/deployment solutionsFamiliar with Google Workspace tools apps and extensionsKnowledge of Active Directory LAN/WAN networking VoIP security antivirus backup virtualization windows server operating systems firewalls and wireless systems5-6 years hands on computer/chromebook support experience requiredPhysical Requirements:Travel between buildings as needed and may require long periods of moderate physical activity including but not limited to bending stooping and lifting up to 50 pounds.
