Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of History at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#240010) at the rank of lecturer for the fall semester only. This is a one-semester temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding demonstrated need and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The start date for the appointment is August 1 2025.
The successful candidate is expected to teach general education courses in history. Our general education curriculum includes United States History Tennessee History World Civilization and Western Civilization courses.
Required Education
A PhD in history or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.

Applicants who possess experience with high-impact teaching practices including but not limited to learning communities Reacting to the Past experiential learning integrative learning supplemental instruction and co-requisite collaboration will receive special consideration.
