Job Description

  • Lead a strategic multi-institutional program driving capacity building and research extension in WA agriculture.
  • Design and deliver postgraduate extension and evaluation programs across a state-wide research collaboration.
  • Full-time appointment until 30 June 2026 fixed-term basis with a possibility for extension.
  • Secondments from partner organisations welcome Base salary range: $167408 $172584 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area
The WA Agricultural Research Collaboration (WAARC) is a state-wide strategic alliance between the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) CSIRO Grower Group Alliance (GGA) Murdoch University Curtin University and The University of Western Australia (UWA). WAARC is reinvigorating WAs agricultural research ecosystem by aligning research with industry priorities and enabling world-class applied research across the supply chain. WAARC connects researchers growers and industry to deliver practical impact for Western Australias agricultural sector.

About the opportunity

  • Lead the design implementation and strategic oversight of WAARCs Capacity Building and Extension Program ensuring alignment with sector needs.
  • Establish and manage WAARCs Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework ensuring consistency across all projects and activities.
  • Design and manage a Postgraduate and Scholarship Program to develop future talent in agricultural research and extension.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and managing Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks for a complex organisation.
  • Proven ability to design and lead a Postgraduate Program including scholarships and research supervision pathways.
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work across a multi-institutional industry-connected environment.
  • Excellent strategic thinking planning and reporting capabilities.
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills including report writing and industry engagement.

Special Requirements

  • A valid drivers licence.
  • Ability to travel interstate occasionally.
  • This role requires a National Police Check and Finance Check
