Substation Engineer
Join our team at East River Electric Power Cooperative! Are you an experienced substation engineer seeking a fulfilling and challenging career We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team. In this position you will play a crucial role in designing preparing and reviewing plans and specifications for both distribution and transmission substations. Your responsibilities will include ensuring our cooperatives adherence to industry standards as well as preparing project specifications and cost estimates. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and keen attention to detail. Engineer level within the job family will be determined by qualifications and experience.
At East River Electric Power Cooperative were dedicated to providing reliable and affordable wholesale power to our members across 40000 square miles of service area. As a not-for-profit generation and transmission cooperative we provide electricity to 24 rural electric distribution cooperatives and one municipally owned electric system serving eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota. Our members in turn power the lives of the member-owners in their service territories.

What Youll Accomplish

- Design prepare and review plans and specifications for distribution and transmission substations.
- Ensure the cooperatives compliance with internal federal and state standards.
- Prepare project specifications and cost estimates.
- Operate Auto-CAD and other related software.
- Participate on cross-functional teams collaborating with others to ensure effective project management.
Showcase Your Knowledge Abilities and Expertise. Do you have
- Bachelors degree in engineering electrical engineering preferred
- Working knowledge of applicable industry standards (IEEE RUS NESC NEC).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; combination of education and experience considered.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to develop positive working relationships.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Auto-CAD and MS Office products.
