Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a motivated Maintenance Technician to join our Mid-Atlantic Region. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for equipment and building maintenance and repair across multiple sites. This nonexempt (hourly) position typically reports directly to the Maintenance Manager or Operations Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities. The position requires working in accordance with Triple-S Steel job requirements and Safe Methods of Work. This role requires frequent travel to various company locations within our Mid-Atlantic Region.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret work orders diagrams and specifications to diagnose and determine maintenance or repair needs for mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Disassemble repair and reassemble machinery using tools such as hand tools hoists jacks or cranes.
  • Start and monitor machines post-repair to verify functionality and identify issues.
  • Inspect components mark defects and report repair needs to supervisors.
  • Install or replace machine parts and attachments according to production requirements.
  • Lubricate equipment as specified to ensure optimal performance.
  • Document maintenance and repair activities accurately.
  • Work collaboratively to complete repairs or move machinery and equipment.
  • Perform general facility maintenance in production warehouse and office areas.
  • Operate and care for all tools and equipment safely including personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings to navigate safely around active work areas.
  • Work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions including extreme weather.
  • Adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety protocols.
  • Consistently wear required PPE.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to correctly read and interpret work orders write and orally communicate in English to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Ability to properly use hand tools.
  • Electrical Welding and Plumbing experience is a plus.
  • Ability safely meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities independent of direct supervision; work alone and in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing safety and customer relations.
  • Demonstrate intermediate math skills (add subtract multiply divide).
  • At least five (5) years in a position demonstrating strong mechanical and industrial skills (preferred)
  • 25-50% travel required

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but due to the open office environment noise level may occasionally be high.
