Job Summary:

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for organization and accuracy

The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a qualified individual to check daily arrivals for future release dates and completed appropriate forms. This position also checks and maintains tentative release lists to ensure inmates are released as mandated by law and Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) policy at the Arizona State Prison Complex - Phoenix.

Job Duties:

- Verifies release eligibility in accordance with applicable state statutes policies and procedures prior to the offenders actual release
- Process release paperwork
- Notifies the appropriate authorities with release dates
- Arranges transportation to approved placement
- Coordinates parole hearings and process paperwork
- Processes Sex Offender Registration and notification forms in cooperation with the Arizona Department of Public Safety and ADCRR Sex Offender Coordination Unit
- Processes commitment paperwork for the Arizona State Hospital as necessary
- Answers questions regarding inmate records and the application of sentencing and release eligibility
- Reviews verifies and enters data with ACIS system to determine accuracy isolates and defines problems
- Corrects inaccurate data to ensure ACIS is able to use correct methodology for time computation
- Analyzes and interprets court orders documents and commitments to ensure legality and accuracy as it pertains to inmate sentence in order to accept a commitment to the ADCRR
- Process Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainers and prepares inmates for pick up by ICE
- Attends staff meetings and all mandatory training
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
- Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS) and ADCRR policies and procedures governing releases detainers and warrants
- Automated and manual filing systems for inmate records
- Work management leadership and training practices and procedures
- English including grammar spelling and punctuation
- Personal computers and software including Microsoft Office Suite Google Suite and ACIS
- Mathematics
- Interpreting court documents and legal terminology

Skill in:
- Interpretation analysis and application of ARS rules and regulations
- ADCRR policies and procedures as it applies to offender time calculations
- Interpretation and analysis of court documents and understanding legal terminology
- Verbal and written communication
- Establish and maintain interpersonal relations
- Customer service

- General office practices

- Comprehend complex policies procedures and departmental systems

Selective Preference(s):

- Experience interpreting court documents and legal terminology
- Work history with legal documentation
- Experience with ACIS

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test.

In an effort to maintain a safe environment all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R.11).

All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
