The Certified Medical Assistant provides both clinical and non-clinical support to providers clinical staff and patients within the Pain Management service line. This role is responsible for delivering person-centered care while ensuring patient comfort safety and efficient clinic operations. The role requires strong communication skills adaptability and adherence to practice protocols and New York State laws.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform clinical duties and procedures within the certified medical assistants scope of practice adhering to NYS laws and practice protocols.
• Record patients vital signs document medical history medications and allergies and prepare exam rooms for patient visits.
• Assist physicians and providers with clinical inquiries prescription refills test results and patient calls following practice protocols.
• Prepare patient records before visits ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of yearly mandatory safety in-services and/or training.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
• Experience working in a healthcare setting preferably in Pain Management.

Physical Requirements:

• Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g. computer keyboard use).
• Lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs.) including boxes equipment and medical supplies.
• Stooping kneeling and reaching for supplies and filing.
• Sitting standing and walking for prolonged periods (4-8 hours).
• Ability to operate medical equipment used in daily tasks.

Location Travel and Shift Requirements:

• Onsite - Cayuga Medical Center 101 Dates Dr. Ithaca NY 14850.
• Onsite - Cayuga Medical Center East Campus 17 Arrowwood Dr. Ithaca NY 14850.
• Full-time (37.5 hours per week) Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

Pay Range Disclosure:

• $18-$22 per hour based on experience
