About the Opportunity
Westinghouse Electric Canada is a leading supplier of custom equipment process systems and engineering consultant services for the Nuclear industry in successful candidate will join an innovative team that supports Westinghouses mission to provide clean energy solutions.
The Manufacturing / Facility Labourer performs various manufacturing / production tasks and material handling duties as assigned to support the manufacturing team as well as general facility and asset maintenance and repair at Westinghouse Electric Canada Peterborough.
What will you do
Your day to day:
- General manufacturing duties including but not limited to component cleaning identification packaging paint touch-up filling production orders to a pick list etc.
- Supporting shipping and receiving with material handling of incoming and outgoing products and components
- Supporting shipping and receiving with packaging and un-packaging of materials and goods
- Saw cutting raw materials
- Stocking or retrieving items in stores
- Supporting production with movement of in process material and components throughout the production facility
- General labeling and identification of equipment and components
- General housekeeping duties and equipment cleaning
- General facility maintenance and repairs such as but not limited to plumbing painting basic snow removal general equipment and tool maintenance and basic repairs
What will you bring
Who you are:
- Material handling crane and /or forklift qualifications or experience required
- Has excellent safety awareness and some record of training (WHMIS Liftingetc.)
- Some exprience or background preferably in an industrial manufacturing or production role.
- general understanding of mechanical repairs and maintenance with a moderate amount of technical aptitude.
- Proficient in MS Excel Word and calendar functions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safe handling of materials wood working power tools and the ability to recognize unsafe situations.
- Read and understand fundamental drawings and other instructions.
- Communicate well with others (peers supervisors)
