Job Description
Join us to upend how we measure performance of ads. Our team computes metrics that millions of advertisers use to assess the impact of their spend on Amazon Ads. We constantly innovate our measurement techniques. Youll take the lead in tackling 3 hard problems (1) what metrics give the right insight into the state of performance measurement techniques (2) what datasets and dashboards enable scientists/PM-Ts/economists to self service research a new measurement feature (3) which cuts of data let engineering teams launch new measurement features faster and cheaper. You will identify automate and explain.
A successful candidate loves finding insights in data and enabling others to do so. Youll explore and identify the appropriate data sources bring them together to enable the right conclusions. Youll lean on your existing abilities to ask questions of data and learn how to do that at internet scale. Youll invent ways to validate metrics for which theres no ground truth. Youll force multiply through other BIEs and data engineers in the team.
Key job responsibilities
Design develop and maintain scaled automated user-friendly systems reports and dashboards enabling stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.
Drive data-driven decision-making through compelling narratives that seamlessly integrate data analysis visualizations and statistical insights.
Work with Product Managers in understanding the business requirements and implementing solutions to support product plans
Conduct ad hoc data analysis and data quality investigations.
Implement training and documentation solutions that enable stakeholders to get the most out of our self-serve analytics tools.
Develop and support the analytical technologies that give our customers timely flexible and structured access to their data.
Defining developing and maintaining critical business and operational reports reviewed on a weekly monthly quarterly and annual basis
Analysis of historical data to extract meaningful insights from large and complex data sets to identify trends and support decision making including written and verbal presentation of results and recommendations
Collaborating with software development teams to implement analytics systems and data structures to support large-scale data analysis and delivery of machine learning models
Understanding of Amazons data resources which to use how and when
About the team
Performance Measurement team computes attribution and incrementality metrics that advertisers use to assess the effectiveness of their spend in ads. We provide performance metrics that are reported to every single user of every Amazon ad product and more.
- 5 years of professional or military experience
- 5 years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval data science machine learning and data mining
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
