The Nuclear Medicine team member is responsible for patient schedules assisting the radiologists in the performance of complex procedures coordination of equipment maintenance and quality assessment (QA). The technologist maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field disease and new procedures as they evolve.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and participate in a variety of technical procedures to include in vivo and in vitro studies; operate radiation detection and measurement instrumentation including stationary imaging devices scintillation gamma and apparatus for in vitro counting
- Calibrate and draw up radiopharmaceutical materials for administration to patients; formulate radiopharmaceutical materials from pre-prepared kits
- Process computerized image data to include function curves and reconstructed SPECT images
- Perform Nuclear Cardiology studies including image acquisition processing and monitoring patient vital signs. Perform EKG prep tracing and monitors for obvious change during cardiac studies
- May rotate shifts or be in an on call status as needed or directed by the organization
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Completion of an accredited nuclear medicine technology program
Required Licensure:
- RTN or CNMT
- MRAD - Texas
- BLS - AHA
