Job Description

RFA Engineering () is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking an experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customers world-class engineering and manufacturing facility.

Description

The Embedded Systems Engineer II will design and develop advanced system displays and the applications each display contains. Use C C QT/QML and virtual machines that run Linux based operating systems. Create robust operating system driven software for advanced displays in conjunction with the display systems team and product testing team. Develop software applications and framework for Linux driven OS. Test code and hardware. Provide product engineering support to develop and deliver Autonomy to Autonomy (A2A) for AR&D projects including A2A solutions validation activities project milestones research and development plans and mule/durability machine requirements documentation. Conduct studies to assess the additional part costs versus performance benefits to improve operator visibility of the surrounding. Conduct research for sensors that can be used to see ahead of the machine bucket. Conduct experiments on different positions and orientation of radar and ultrasonic sensors on the loader to prevent collision with nearby objects. Work on projects that involve camera addition to the Loader Excavator and Crawler for better operator visibility of surroundings. Analyze existing vehicle CAN data and provided suggestions on improving mounting position of the sensors for better accuracy. Calibrate cameras and IMUs for better efficiency of the automated systems. Position allows working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.

Requirements

  • Requires at least a Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics Engineering Computer Science or a related field.
  • Must possess 2 years (24 months) of experience with all of the following: (a) working with Agile methodology; (b) developing models algorithms and tools using Spyder Jupyter Notebook VS Code Excel NumPy Pandas Matplotlib to improve and enhance functionality for related hardware; (c) developing dashboards and applications using C C Python SQL; (d) collecting and processing raw sensor data; (e) conducting testing troubleshooting and debugging of models and code; and (f) utilizing all of the following: Python C C MATLAB Tensorflow Pytorch Keras Windows and Linux Operating Systems Github and Data Collection. Experience may be gained concurrently.
  • It is a requirement of this position that you have reliable transportation to get to and from work.
