Job Description

THE POSITION

We are looking for a motivated and dependable person to provide case management services to customers and their families in home and community settings. If you like the idea of helping families work through potential problems and maximize their potential for independence then CMSU needs you to help us help others.



DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Caseworker will provide case management services to consumers and their families in their home or community who have developmental disabilities or who experience severe and persistent mental illness. Caseworkers collaborate with consumers and other involved agencies to locate and access all community resources and supportive services.

On day one of employment CMSUs employees begin earning paid vacation and sick time. In addition to vacation and sick time CMSU provides four (4) personal days per year and 15 paid holidays. CMSU also provides health dental and vision insurance to its staff. Tuition reimbursement for graduate and undergraduate courses both in-person or on-line is also available. CMSU staff also qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF).

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday - Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience andTraining Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology social welfare psychology gerontology criminal justice or other related social sciences; or
  • A bachelors degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology social welfare psychology gerontology criminal justice or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology social welfare psychology gerontology criminal justice or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position fallsunder the provisions ofthe Child Protective Services Law.

  • Under the Law a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police clearance PA Child Abuse history clearance and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
