Job Duties:
VRS Human Resources department is seeking a highly motivated intern to assist with various HR-related tasks supporting day-to-day operations of the VRS team. As the HR Intern you will gain hands-on experience with recruitment support records management HRIS tasks HR communications and operations employee engagement learning and development and more. This is an excellent opportunity to hone your HR skills and further develop your HR foundational knowledge. Join us in our fast-paced high-energy department!
Document project requirements by meeting with individual HR team members to identify needs
Assist in scheduling interviews and prepping interview materials for various VRS departments
Complete onboarding tasks including I-9 verification new hire paperwork audits and badge appointments
Develop an interview guide to assist candidates in navigating VRS buildings
Create Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) templates for HR use
Maintain HR files both digital and physical and assist in migration project to 100% digital files
Assist with employee communication projects; keeping the workforce informed
Work within SharePoint sites and set up automation technology to reduce repetitive tasks
Perform data entry to organize written content and digital assets; manage intranet content digital signage and monthly townhall livestreams
Assist in HRIS data clean up and Workforce Ready User Acceptance Testing
Update Professional Development Stats
Assist with employee engagement activities including DEI initiatives
Help to maintain and organize the HR EDGE course SharePoint site; ensuring accuracy of information
Assist in documenting and/or updating HR processes and procedures
Effectively work with multiple internal departments and all levels of staff to move assigned projects forward
Perform filing and general administrative tasks.
Maintain confidentiality of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and other sensitive data.
Perform other projects or duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Working towards an undergraduate degree or certificate in business human resources management records and information management or closely related field (from an accredited college or university)
General knowledge in Human Resources practices and categories including: recruitment/onboarding data analysis employee engagement HRIS and/or employee benefits
Proficiency in MS Office suite and using general computer software
The successful candidate must also have the following key competencies: project management skills ability to prioritize tasks and work independently ability to meet deadlines on multiple projects attention to detail and accuracy excellent interpersonal and communication skills excellent organizational analytical and problem-solving skills ability to maintain confidentiality; and a professional positive demeanor.
Additional Considerations:
Previous experience working in professional business setting or Human Resource focused atmosphere preferred
Previous experience with recruitment/onboarding and handling of sensitive documentation preferred
Understanding of records management and scanning processes preferred
Knowledge of SharePoint or similar software preferred; similarly knowledge of HRIS systems preferred

Currently this position has a hybrid work schedule - requiring work in the office two days per week and work remotely three days per week. The selected candidate must be able to work in the office any day of the week as required by the manager and per the agreed upon internship schedule.
