Responsibilities
Are you a passionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant looking for a rewarding career opportunity Northridge Hospital Medical Center is committed to helping our patients achieve their rehabilitation goals and improve their quality of life. Were currently seeking a motivated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team!
- Implement treatment plans as prescribed by the Physical Therapist including therapeutic exercises manual therapy techniques gait training and modalities (e.g. ultrasound electrical stimulation heat/cold therapy).
- Monitor patient progress and communicate effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist regarding any changes in condition or response to treatment.
- Accurately document patient care activities in accordance with clinic policies and procedures.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and injury prevention strategies.
- Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the clinic.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 yrs. experience as a practicing PTA including demonstrated teaching responsibilities and evidence of continued education required.
- A graduate of an approved school for Physical Therapist Assistants or equivalent by the licensing board is required.
- The academic curriculum will include coursework on growth and development gerontology and therapeutic procedures for pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric populations.
- New grads welcome.
- Current State of California Physical Therapist Assistant licensure required. (LIC PTA)
- Current AHA BLS
- Fire Safety cards required (obtain 90 days from start date).
This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
