Manager, Business Unit Communications

We are looking to add an ambitiousManager Business Unit Communicationsto partnerwith our Energy Systems leaders to define and deploy communications strategies and content that will support the growth of the business unit to drive line-of-sight to the companys short and long-term goals and performance and protect and enhance Westinghouse brand both externally and internally.

The Manager Business Communiciations should have the ability to think strategically and implement tactically. Ideal candidate will be able to think creatively to apply leading-edge and up-to-date communications tools and leverage them for the company.

The position will develop communications plans to deliver world-class internal and external communications to gain customer preference for our products strengthen our company culture build business value and advance our competitive position. The role is expected to partner with Global Communications colleagues business partners and sometimes with outside agency partners that will execute plans and meet established goals.

US Remote candidates will be considered but travel should be expected as business needs dictate.

Your Day to Day:

• Develop and implement effective communication strategies that build customer loyalty programs brand awareness and customer satisfaction.
• Serve as Global Communications point of contact for the Energy Systems business unit.
• Understand key industry organizations events and identify opportunities for company participation to demonstrate leadership and protect and enhance the companys brand.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including commercial sales operations and legal to produce globally consistent outstanding communication materials that enable sales and increase our channels.
• Contribute to driving awareness and familiarity of Westinghouse products and services within the BU leveraging collaboration and knowledge application from other business units.
• Develop yourself and others as a key player within the BU and Global Communications team.

Research industry-related topics (combining online sources interviews and studies) to generate opportunities for business unit exposure internally and externally

• Utilize industry best practices and familiarity with the organization to inspire ideas and content
• Follow an editorial calendar collaborating with other members of the Global Communications team to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Identify customers needs and gaps in our content to recommend and develop new topics

Who You Are:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent in communications marketing communications journalism. Masters preferred.
• 7 years experience required in corporate setting and a communications background with proficiency in corporate communications public relations media relations brand marketing or related field preferably in an industrial environment.
• Excellent written verbal and presentation skills and the ability to communicate/collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Experience in corporate communications brand management social media engagement.
• Working knowledge and application of AP writing style.

• Ability to work under pressure in a detail-oriented highly regulated market while working collaboratively and partner with both internal and external groups.
• Self-starter with creativity and initiative to bring ideas forward
• Exceptional writing ability with expert knowledge in business writing editing and proofreading.
• Excellent planning organization time management and project management skills.
• High level of taste to guide design direction and creative marketing collateral
