Job Description

As a full stack engineer at Airtable you will have the opportunity to work with customers to deeply understand their needs and workflows. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners across product management design research and data science to create innovative new features that enable our customers to do their best work. You will be responsible for owning and executing the end-to-end implementation of these new features that will contribute to making our toolkit even more powerful and successful.

Teams & New Product Lines:
- The Core Experience Team (Full-Stack/FE SF/NYC) owns the UI layer of the Airtable app building platform. This layer (Interface Designer) sits atop the Data and Automations layer and enables customers to create customized interfaces supporting an expansive array of use cases. The team also owns complex backend systems such as Airtables advanced permissions framework and the systems powering commenting and notifications. Additionally the team collaborates closely with cross-functional partners and engages directly with customers to gather requirements and discuss use cases firsthand.
- The Monetization & Funnel Team (Full Stack/FE SF/NYC)is a high-impact team focused on driving user activation engagement and revenue across Airtables core surfacesfrom onboarding and sharing to pricing and payments. Engineers here build polished user-facing features run experiments that shape product direction and maintain the systems that power billing and purchasing. Youll collaborate closely with Product Design and Data leverage AI to personalize the user journey and play a key role in helping users discover and unlock the full value of Airtable.
- The HyperDB Team (Full-Stack SF/NYC) is building a new product that allows customers with massive data sets (hundreds of millions of records) to operationalize that data within the Airtable environment. HyperDB consists of a new backend query and storage system as well as frontend exploration and administrative surfaces. The team collaborates closely with cross-functional partners in Product and Design and engages directly with many of Airtables largest customers. HyperDB was released in beta last year and going forward will increasingly be building out AI-powered exploration functionality into the product.
Please note: while we employ a hybrid working model at Airtable (flexible in working from the office or elsewhere) we are looking to hire candidates at this level that are based in San Francisco/New York who are open to coming into the office at least 2-3 times/week for team collaboration.

What youll do
- Spec and build product features that are beautiful consistent and fast that encourage exploration and that earn the trust of our customers through predictable reliable and thoughtful interactions.
- Work at all levels of the stack from AWS and SQL to React HTML. and CSS to build and maintain end to end products on Airtable.
- Partner with product managers designers and data scientists to understand the needs of potential users and build a product that unlocks their potential.
- Work alongside and learn from a talented group of engineers with a diverse range of experiences and backgrounds.
Who you are
- You have 2-5 years of industry experience with modern full-stack web development with particular emphasis on user facing feature development and full stack or frontend work. Please note: while we are flexible on leveling for this role we are particularly looking to hire junior/mid-career candidates given our roadmap needs.
- You are fluent in one or more frontend and backend technologies and are interested in programming in JavaScript and React.
- You are excited by a product-oriented full stack or frontend role.
- You have a good understanding of web technologies and large-scale web application architecture.
- You have a background in computer science or a related field.
- You believe the best product is the one that helps users accomplish their goals while growing the business.
- You take a thoughtful approach to decision making; knowing when to move fast and when to do things right.
- You have strong convictions weakly held and assume validation and iteration are a given to produce the best results.
- You show strong ownership instincts and sweat the details.
- You are currently based and/or will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area or New York City.

$148100 - $221500 USD
