Idaho Power located in vibrant Boise Idaho is looking for an Inventory Specialist to join our Corporate Services and Communications team. Its an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. Our work plays a critical role in communities we serve across Idaho and Oregon and were working hard to safely provide our customers with the reliable affordable clean energy they depend on. While this position is based at Idaho Powers Boise location we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote with proficiency in role.

What does an Inventory Specialist do for us

This individual works independently to administer and manage the Asset Suite Materials Catalog. They develop the guidelines utilized in maintaining the integrity of the information in the catalog. They research and evaluate data in making key decisions on the operation and function of the catalog. They promote to users and other stakeholders the importance of maintaining a clean and accurate inventory catalog to help optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of inventory control processes. This position is a control performer for SOX controls relating to the materials catalog including changes to average unit price and setting a catalog ID to ready status. The Inventory Specialist supports Inventory Analysts Material Services Procurement and other internal business partners. Additionally the Inventory Specialist coordinates transfers out of the Distribution Center to satellite facilities by reviewing modifying scheduling and printing for delivery in accordance with the truck schedule.

A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

Knowledge of:

  • The inventory management module of an ERP system
  • Utility operations and practices inventory and purchasing practices
  • Tools hardware office supplies and other materials

Preferred:

  • Asset Suite inventory management module

Skills in:

  • Advanced skills in negotiation organization detail orientation time management and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate computer skills in MS Excel Word and PowerPoint

Preferred:

  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Power BI

Ability to:

  • Be detail oriented and able to gather analyze and communicate technical/complex data effectively
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Develop and maintain effecting working relationships
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Research data from the internet manufacturer catalogs construction or other type manuals
  • Demonstrates analytical and critical thinking


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Associates Degree

OR

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred:

  • College degree in supply chain management accounting finance or related field

Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in inventory management purchasing or related field including 2 years of experience in data collection analysis and report development

Preferred:

  • 2 years of experience with an enterprise system material catalog

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment fine motor skills including typing on the computer dialing phones filing paper and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position.
