Job Summary
The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is seeking motivated individuals to join our team of diverse Internal Medicine and Surgery Clinical Pharmacists in a per diem capacity. The pharmacist will work on average a minimum of 16 hours (2 shifts) every 4 weeks. In this role the pharmacist will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care for a diverse inpatient population. This position will allow the pharmacist to provide therapeutic recommendations respond to drug information questions respond to hospital emergencies and provide a diverse range of clinical interventions to admitted patients.Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge and ability in all areas of the department including: IV Admixtures Drug Information Ambulatory Manufacturing and Drug Distribution.
- Attention to detail.
- Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span of the neonate adolescent adult and geriatric patient Possess ability to assess patient data relative to age specific needs Provide care as described in the departments policies/procedures.
- Works relatively independently.
- Participates in department quality improvement efforts.
- Participates in the training of medical nursing and allied health professionals.
- Must complete 20 continuing education credits per year to maintain license.
- Familiarity with pharmacy practice settings legal requirements and limitations prescription information and calculations drug identification and generic equivalents drug manufacturing packaging and labeling information and proper drug handling and storage practices.
