Overview
As our Surgical Technician II at the CHI Woodlands Hospital now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiative and Dignity Health youll prepare the operating room for a variety of surgeries. We cant operate without you.
The operating room (OR) runs as a team every person on the team has an important role that has a direct impact on the patient. Your success in this role comes from your adaptability and enthusiasm to work with a team taking patients from a diseased process to a healing process.

The Woodlands Hospital a primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services diagnostic imaging womens services neurosciences pediatric care and surgery pathology and pulmonary services and sleep disorders.

Responsibilities
- Assist surgical team in the scrubbing role and report any breaks in aseptic technique
- Assist with retracting of tissue and organs and suctioning by holding the retracting
- Assure appropriate equipment and supplies are available for each procedure
- Perform surgical counts with the RN according to policy and procedure
- Prepare the operating room for assigned surgical procedures with proper instrumentation and sterilization
- Provide clean-up and turnover of operating room to prepare for next patient
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma/GED
Licensure/Certification:
Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CST/CSFA) required as of September 1 2010 or grandfathered employees or LVN
BLS Certification Required
Minimum Experience:
Two (2) years of experience
