Lowell Catholic High School is seeking a dynamic full-time Department Chair of Science (Grades 712).This leadership role involves both classroom teaching and department oversight. The Department Chair is a key instructional leader who helps shape curriculum supports department members and ensures excellence in teaching and learning within the science Responsibilities:-Instructional (Teaching Grades 912):-Develop and deliver engaging rigorous science instruction that meets the needs of all learners.-Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom culture aligned with Catholic values.-Assess student understanding regularly and communicate progress to students and Leadership:-Collaborate with administration and faculty to guide the vision and direction of the science curriculum for Grades 712.-Mentor and support science teachers with instructional practices curriculum alignment and professional development.-Lead regular department meetings and maintain open lines of communication across grade levels.-Monitor student performance data to help inform departmental goals and strategies.-Coordinate materials equipment and budget requests related to the science :-Bachelors Degree in a science-related field (Masters Degree preferred).-MA teacher certification in science (Grades 512) or a relevant science discipline.-At least 35 years of teaching experience preferably with leadership or department coordination responsibilities.-Strong understanding of science curriculum development instructional strategies and student-centered learning.-Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of Lowell Catholic Where Tradition Meets TomorrowAt Lowell Catholic our students faculty alumni parents and friends are united by the rich history of Catholic education in the Greater Lowell area and by our shared mission to prepare students for a bright faith-filled future.
