Job Summary:
The Commercial Aquatics Estimator will prepare bid packages for swimming pool contractors. The bid package consists primarily of job/project quotations. The ideal candidate will use their understanding of commercial products the commercial job process architect preference applications vendors and installation to grow commercial business through the branch network. The position also requires project consultation working directly with our customers and POOLCORP employees to support our success in winning commercial bids.
Responsibilities:
Prepares bid packages for customers and the field based on the quote requests and the plans provided.
Reads plans and specification to find the products called out for a given application.
Provides guidance to field sales regarding commercial bidding specifications product assortment competition and competitive advantages
Manages commercial protocol and gain market knowledge to maintain acceptable margins.
Visits job sites for commercial pools to determine product requirements diagnose product or installation issues and make recommendations.
Requests quotes from vendors for products not in our system.
Works with deadlines for quotation submittal.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience in the swimming pool industry with knowledge of commercial pool applications with a wide variety of products understanding of vendor offerings and availability.
Understanding of commercial pool water hydraulics sanitization and basic building principles.
Familiarity with swimming pool aquatic design firms and the bid process.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization.
Familiarity with basic computer functions and ability to generate documents reports and correspondence using the following software: MS Office Excel Outlook PowerPoint.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful.
College degree and/or engineering degree preferred.
