The Role:

The Sr. Team Lead GL Controls is responsible for leading the APAC teams operational execution and supporting global financial close reporting and reconciliation processes. This role ensures the accuracy and timeliness of journal processing reconciliations compliance and financial reporting in alignment with internal policies SOX requirements and audit readiness. It includes both hands-on responsibilities and oversight across Oracle Fusion Cloud GL and related systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership Oversight & Close Support

  • Provide daily monitoring and oversight of the manual journal approval workflow suspense account analysis unposted journal reviews external interface monitoring GAC/GST processing and all APAC R2R tasks during monthly close.
  • Support the upload of Oracle GL manual journals during critical close days and guide journal preparers on journal creation and error troubleshooting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate performance of all APAC team tasks maintaining full understanding of procedures and ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are complete accurate and current.
  • Lead the SmartView and OTBI report refreshes and TBs for APAC legal entities including AU SG KR JP IN and PH.
  • Oversee month-end journal entries regional ratings allocations and support budgeting/cash flow forecasting as necessary.

Reconciliations & Compliance

  • From Workday 6 to Workday 12 lead and review global reconciliations in ARCS working closely with APAC Controllers to meet reconciliation policy requirements.
  • Ensure all GST and GAC processes are completed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor and report on ARCS reconciliation statuses open items and compliance with SOX and internal audit requirements.
  • Review and manage reconciliations for all APAC entities assigned.

Audit & Control Responsibilities

  • Support the Global General Ledger Controls Manager and APAC Controllers with internal/external audit requests related to Oracle GL and reconciliations.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies audit procedures and systems controls in compliance with SOX.
  • Understand and help manage legacy and modern systems such as Oracle Fusion Cloud GL AR AP ARCS Modules Alteryx and others influencing the general ledger and team task processes.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Act as a key contact between the R2R team and other internal/external stakeholders including Controllers FP&A Audit and Vendors.
  • Provide clear professional communication supporting global issue resolution escalations and process improvements.
  • Ensure team members feel supported valued and empowered addressing any performance or morale concerns and escalating appropriately to management.

Training Development & Process Ownership

  • Mentor and guide team members ensuring high performance professional growth and strong understanding of all APAC processes.
  • Lead task coordination in Planner including uploading and tracking monthly tasks and responsibilities.
  • Take initiative in driving improvements process enhancements and ensuring SOPs are followed and evolved with business needs.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Supervise finalization and analysis of Trial Balances P&L reviews and SmartView reports for FP&A.
  • Coordinate preparation of intercompany reports payables reports compliance updates and audit schedules.
  • Ensure timely completion of tax compliance deliverables including GST C-Tax and TDS calculations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education & Experience:
    • 46 years of relevant accounting and reconciliation experience required.
    • College-level degree in Accounting preferred.
    • Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud (GL AR AP) ARCS Alteryx SmartView OTBI and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Outlook Word Access).
    • Prior experience with system maintenance and working with both new and legacy systems is an advantage.
  • Technical & Process Knowledge:
    • Solid understanding of general accounting principles reconciliation processes audit practices and SOX compliance.
    • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven fast-paced environment.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues while maintaining compliance.
  • Leadership & Communication:
    • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and develop a high-performing diverse and globally distributed team.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to interact effectively with internal teams external stakeholders and offshore partners at all levels.
    • Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration address concerns and create a supportive team environment.
  • Adaptability & Initiative:
    • Willingness to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
