Created in 2015 to align lighten and modernize infrastructure the Technology & Infrastructure (T&I) team is the backbone and the future forward arm of CBC/Radio-Canada. This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.
Your Role
The Advisor Digital Streaming is primarily responsible for the continuous improvement of our video streaming and distribution with focus in three critical areas: standardized encoding and video delivery that is aligned with industry best practices; revenue optimization through Dynamic Ad Insertion and interactive ad delivery; quality control and continuous improvement through Digital Presentation services across owned & operated and partner platforms.
This position contributes to the implementation of strategic plans for Digital Presentation & Distribution under the strategic direction of Technology & Infrastructure and in line with CBC and Radio-Canadas digital strategies. Working closely with the Senior Manager of Digital Presentation & Distribution the Advisor of Streaming will collaborate with our partners including Media Solutions Digital Products Infrastructure Support and Engineering to iterate and optimize existing technology infrastructure and workflows at the intersection of our strategic priorities our mandates and our operational and technological realities.
The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of distribution platforms and encoding technology and stays abreast of the evolving media landscape and our audiences behaviour. They will build out a roadmap that meets our business and technology requirements while reflecting industry trends and privileging audience experience. They will use metrics and analytics to inform decisions and opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
