THE RENFREW COUNTY DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
requires a
COURIER DRIVER
(Starting Immediately)
Based at the Board Office Pembroke ON
SCHEDULE:
16 hours biweekly; except for Christmas Break when there is no courier service;
8 hours/day on both Wednesdays & Thursdays every other week;
7:30 am - 4:00 pm
Please note: On occasion there may be an operational need for additional hours.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Senior Secretary of Facilitiesthe Courier Driver drives the courier van to assigned Board locations within the Boards district and loads unloads and sorts items at each location.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent of Grade 12.
A registered Province of Ontario Class G drivers license.
Must provide a clear Drivers Abstract.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Capable of driving under all weather conditions and adhering to a predetermined schedule. Ability to deal courteously and professionally with Board employees and members of the public. Physically capable of handling materials weighing up to and including 50 pounds routinely and regularly. Ability to maintain a clean and tidy vehicle washing the van inside and out when necessary and have a reasonable knowledge of vehicle operation and minor road repair. Ability to follow written and oral instructions and handle other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Proven to be responsible and dependable.
Hiring will follow the requirements outlined in the CUPE 1247 Collective Agreement and the RCDSB Administrative Procedures. Members of the bargaining unit will be given first consideration. The District reserves the right not to fill a position.
