Job Description

We are seeking a Pre-Press Lead for our First Quality Print & Packaging facility located in Anderson SC. The Pre-Press Lead working under the direction of the Pre-Press Manager is responsible for training employees to operate maintain setting up and change over machines/equipment within standard operating procedures.

Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

  • Oversee or train employees to operate inspect and maintain all support equipment as needed.
  • Operate inspect and maintain all support equipment as needed.
  • Responsible for the duties associated with but not limited to the mounting of plates.
  • Producing flexo plates as needed to ensure deadlines are met within the department.
  • Ensure integrity/quality of plates.
  • Establish & maintain a high level of quality productivity and waste mitigation.
  • Complete daily inventory checks and ordering as needed.
  • Must be able to solve problems and root cause analysis
  • Ensures the proper materials are in place in a timely and orderly fashion
  • Works with Manager to ensure department coverage.
  • Maintain a clean organized department to ensure efficiency.
  • Follow all GMP OSHA SQF and Plant policies and procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as required or directed with or without accommodation.
  • Conducts job in a manner which complies to the food safety program (SQF).
  • Participates in Food Safety Activities.
  • Reports food safety problems immediately to supervisor or a QA team member. Takes actions where appropriate.

Education and experience requirements:

Bachelors in graphics arts or Packaging Science preferred but requisite experience may be accepted in lieu of education. 2 years in printing/manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

Noisy environment requiring hearing protection; manufacturing environment requiring safety shoes and safety glasses. Other PPE required based upon specific tasks. Observe all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.

Physical Requirements:

  • Walk/stand 100% of time during a 12-hour shift.
  • Occasional stooping bending kneeling and squatting throughout shift.
  • Occasional climbing and reaching
  • Occasional reaching overhead during shift.
  • Frequent pushing and pulling with arms and legs throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting or carrying items/product weighing 10 pounds.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying items/product weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Constant light and firm grasping with hands throughout shift.
  • Daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area.
  • Occasional climbing of steps.
  • Maintains 5s housekeeping standards

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to maintain records and logs
  • Ability to operate a PC
  • Ability to use hand tools proficiently
  • Ability to work in a Tobacco Free Facility and on a Tobacco Free Campus
