Role Purpose:
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant in British Council Barcelona to support senior teachers and class teachers in delivering high-quality teaching and learning while also helping ensure the care and well-being of children at the British Council.
Suitable for candidates at the beginning of their careers who are eager to learn and grow professionally
Role Accountabilities:
The Teaching Assistant supports teachers in creating a safe clean and engaging environment for young learners. This includes setting up and clearing classrooms promoting positive behaviour and ensuring the well-being and safety of children at all timesincluding during breaks and transitions. In the classroom the assistant helps with planned activities supports student learning and uses appropriate English to encourage communication. They may assist with intimate care if needed. The Teaching Assistant will be expected to use English with children and staff.
The role also involves welcoming students relaying important information and supporting substitute teachers when necessary. Administrative support may be required occasionally.
For off-site teaching the assistant helps manage student drop-off and pick-up and may support multiple groups of children as needed.
This position works closely with children class and senior teachers parents or guardians customer services assistants and teaching centre management to ensure smooth operations and a positive experience for all.
