Job Summary:
Provides retail and administrative support functions for the distribution and sales of durable medical equipment (DME) for Franciscan Health Systems facilities and retail stores. Work is generally performed in a retail store or clinical setting within a FHS facility.
Work includes:
1) dispensing products to patients as determined by the healthcare provider
2) instructing patients on the proper use of DME products
3) explaining insurance and reimbursement criteria to patients and
4) maintaining appropriate records and performing retail support tasks.
Basic knowledge of the function and use of a wide variety of DME products as well as the application of Medicare/Medicaid regulations and billing are required. Work also requires a high level of customer service skills and involves interaction with physicians patients staff other FHS departments and outside entities to promote DME products and to facilitate efficient and cost-effective operations.
