Responsibilities

Role:

Instrument Inventory Specialist tracks instrument resources necessary for supporting surgical procedures within the perioperative services division by setting up and facilitating inventory controls and support systems for surgical instrumentation. Functions as a liaison to the perioperative services departments and vendors to facilitate the ordering stocking/restocking inventorying tracking and recording of specialized surgical instrumentation and implants as requested by physicians and resource nurses for designated procedures.

Qualifications

Education/Work Experience Requirements

Graduation from an accredited sterile processing or surgical technician program and a minimum of four years of progressively responsible related healthcare work experience preferably in an acute care hospital sterile processing environment.

Licensure/Certification

Current Certification as a Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST) or CSPDT certification through internationally recognized organizations such as IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing) is required; OR

The ability to obtain IAHCCSMM certification within eighteen months of date of hire (which requires 400 hours of Sterile Processing work experience).
