Pipefitter

The Pipefitter is responsible for layout and fabrication assembly installation and maintenance of piping/plumbing systems fixtures and equipment for steam water sprinkler heating cooling lubricating and related systems. This work requires practical journeyman level skills and knowledge as pipefitter or industrial plumber. The work may require interpreting specifications blueprints manufacturers manuals sketches or similar documents. It will also require the ability to plan the sequence of operation and materials according to knowledge of pressure capacities piping plumbing operations and materials. Candidate must also be able to perform incidental tasks as required to complete the larger task.

Responsibilities:

• Measure cut and bend various sizes of pipe and tubing to required angle/length using pipe cutters and benders
• Copper Brazing and soldering
• Threading and assembling black pipe
• Thread and assemble steel pipe
• Prepare fabricate install and fit pipe to specifications
• Install valves hangers supports and flanges in piping systems according to plans and applicable specifications
• Repair leaks in all types of pipe systems
• Assemble install and repair piping systems according to specifications and appropriate trade and building codes
• Assist with coordination of materials labor and equipment
• Experience as a pipefitter in a manufacturing environment
• Ensure all safety procedures and quality standards are followed
• Work with other departments as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum 2years of Industrial pipefitting experience
• Working knowledge of all types of piping systems
• Must be able to read comprehend and interpret pipe drawings
• Possess the ability to work skillfully with both hands constantly
• Must have the ability to independently lift and carry objects safely that weigh up to 20 pounds routinely 50 pounds frequently and 80 pounds occasionally
• Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding
• Knowledge of pipes fittings and fixtures for heating water and drainage systems
• Must have the ability to read and interpret a written scope of work
• Perform basic mathematical computations and use measuring tools
• Must be able to identify basic trade materials by size shape and function and safely use small power tools and hand tools
• Managerial skills

• Pipe welding using MIG TIG and/or stick a plus
