Within our specialized Maersk Project Logistics (MPL) division we offer tailored solutions for managing the flow of materials complex shipments and out-of-gauge cargo across multiple transport modes.
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to establish our Operation Team in Genoa Italy. This role will focus on managing and developing our operations in Italy while delivering exceptional service to our project logistics customers. You will work closely with our Growth Manager to expand our Italian market building relationships driving initiatives and identifying growth opportunities in alignment with our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities: As the Operations Manager you will:
- Develop and implement local customer service strategies with our Growth Manager
- Manage complex project logistics focusing on oversized cargo transportation.
- Foster and maintain strong client relationships consistently delivering excellence.
- Implement and maintain operational process to lead new initiatives.
- Maintain a dynamic and scalable customer service organization where resources are managed effectively and efficiently
- Build a scalable business in Italy driving continuous market share growth.
What We Are Looking For:
The ideal candidate is an experienced logistics professional with a background in project logistics freight forwarding or managing out-of-gauge cargo. You are a self-starter with strong leadership skills and thrive in a collaborative fast-paced environment. You are customer-focused results-driven and committed to operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in project logistics or freight forwarding particularly in oversized cargo transportation.
- Proven leadership experience with a focus on leading small teams and developing talent.
- Strong understanding of customer service dynamics and experience in managing key client relationships.
- Ability to work effectively within a matrix organization and influence stakeholders.
- Track record of delivering results through effective team management and collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with fluency in Italian and English.
- Willingness to travel approximately 15-20 days per year.
