Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Integrate and install the body electrical system with the existing chassis platform.
- Follow company processes and methods to locate route and secure wiring and other electrical componentry.
- Install various electrical components and test their functionality.
- Ability to trouble shoot a variety of systems and components as needed to test and ensure desired functionality.
- Work with 12 and 24V DC systems.
- Complete installation of equipment in a professional manner which mirrors the fit and finish of the OEM chassis.
- Complete all tasks in a professional and timely manner which meets all quality and company standards.
- Use of diagnostic tools such as a volt/amp meter to validate and troubleshoot.
- Use of various hand tools required.
- Keep the work area clean and maintained per safety and company standards.
- Operate all tools and equipment safely adhering to company safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical school or post-secondary school training a plus.
- Knowledge of Class 8 truck and similar chassis electrical systems.
- Working knowledge and programming capabilities of chassis systems such as J1939 and CANBUS a plus.
- 1-3 years of work experience as an automotive or truck electrical technician.
- Ability to follow instructions with limited supervision.
