QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING:
- Bachelors Degree in Education with an endorsement in Elementary or Secondary Education
- Have an Administrative Endorsement (preferred)
- Tennessee Teaching License (current)
- Successful school-level experience
- Three years of successful teaching experience or equivalent
- Effective decision-making and verbal/written communication skills
- Displays interpersonal skills
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent might find appropriate and acceptable
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with
provisions of the Boards policy on evaluation of personnel.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works as part of the leadership team with the building principal.
- Provides assistance in conducting needs assessment strategies and program evaluation.
- Identifies plans organizes and conducts professional development opportunities relevant to school needs; researches identifies and models best practices.
- Coaches supports and mentors classroom teachers.
- Works with teachers individually in collaborative teams and/or with departments providing practical support on a full range of instructional strategies.
- Conducts regular meetings with classroom teachers to examine student work and monitor progress in order to support teacher reflection and action.
- Works closely with building level leadership team in the development and implementation of professional learning communities and sustains the change process required to operate
- Collects organizes and completes information necessary for reports and evaluations.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with students educators parents and community members.
- Have a deep understanding of best practices for teaching.
- Knowledgeable about formative and diagnostic assessments and research-based instructional practices.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
