Radio-Canada Productions Post-Production & Radio team in Montreal is seeking a Senior Director Operations who will lead a team of managers supervisors and unionized employees to provide production services to programming partners meet departmental objectives and ultimately deliver high-quality content to Canadians.
You must plan and manage all radio and post-production technical operations. You will maintain business relationships with internal/external partners and suppliers. You will work within assigned budgets ensuring optimum allocation of human physical and financial resources.
As Senior Director you will work with your immediate supervisor and/or direct reports on strategies improvement plans and transformation plans and will be asked to contribute to senior management projects/initiatives. You will also be involved in some Human Resources and Industrial Relations matters.
Key responsibilities:
Set annual objectives and priorities for the areas under your responsibility implementing strategies that align with corporate strategic objectives.
Develop an action plan with your direct reports for achieving objectives ensuring that operational priorities are set communicated and executed by teams.
Oversee editing mixing and in-studio radio operations as well as various special events ensuring that your departments human financial and physical resources are optimally managed.
Guide and coach staff reporting to you in order to unite them behind common goals using an effective efficient and people-centred leadership style.
Be responsible for optimizing talent and resources monitoring the performance dialogue process and developing talent in your department with a focus on adopting effective tailor-made talent acquisition strategies for the Production division while maintaining strong relationships with internal partners and external talent providers.
Provide vision and implement action plans to deliver high-quality operational support and production services.
Provide strong engaging leadership by acting as an agent of change and a visible contact point to represent Production in implementing EDI sustainability and change management strategies as well as engagement activities.
Perform any other duties or assignments designated by management.
What you bring:
University degree in a media-related field; other equivalent training in an appropriate field may be considered
Over eight (8) years experience in a similar role in production and/or TV operations including at least ten (10) years in a supervisory role
Relevant experience in technical and financial resource management
Proven experience managing teams and creating a positive work environment
Advanced knowledge of technical production with a specific focus on radio/post-production and production infrastructure
Varied knowledge of production methods technical equipment operational workflows and production trades a definite asset
Knowledge of and interest in new industry trends and technologies
Communication skills in order to build and maintain quality relationships
Ability to manage in a unionized environment and provide your team with guidance on business processes; knowledge of labour relations principles
Influential leadership and ability to foster participatory collaboration
Ability to identify strategic issues implement action plans and anticipate innovative effective solutions
Ability to manage change and handle stress under tight deadlines
Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities
Bilingualism (English/French spoken and written) is an asset
Availability to work when required during special events and/or outside regular business hours
