Summary

The Records and Licensing Services Division is seeking individuals who are passionate about customer service and are eager to work as part of a dynamic team! ThisLicensing Specialist(Customer Service Specialist III) position provides you with theopportunity todemonstrate yourdirectcustomer service talentandlicensingand/orregulatory expertise inan environment dedicated to trust collaborationand building rapport with your colleagues and customers.

Our candidate will be flexible have the ability to identify and develop efficient practices and procedures and is patient and focused on listening to King County customers.We are looking for someone who has excelled in a team environment and is known for their energy ambition taking initiative and their positive can-do attitude.

Job Duties

Scope of Job Duties:To be considered for this opportunity you must ata minimum demonstrate skill and ability to:

  • Provideaccurate guidance onthe phone in person and via mail advising customers of documents andother information required forallvehicle/vessellicensing andtitlingneeds taxicab/for-hire/transportation network company (TNC) drivers licensing and permitting process server licensing and pet licensing;
  • Performproduction-leveldataentryfiling sortingandotheradministrativetasks using Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Examinedocumentation forStateLawrequirements todetermine vehicle vesseland mobile home titling and title transfer transaction approval and determine validity correctness and completeness of information received;
  • Provideaccurate information about licensing policies procedures codes and regulations forvehiclesandvessels taxicab/for-hire/transportationnetwork company (TNC) driverspet licensing and process servers;
  • Problem solveand research with limited guidance and have a sense of urgency in situations that require a quick turnaround while providing exceptional customer serviceto all stakeholdersin person on the phone and via mail;
  • Obtain monitor trackand organizedatathatmayrequireinformation searchesthrough files policies procedures records or computer files while being highly detailed;
  • Collect and processpayments verifyandreconcile datadiscrepancies andbalancedaily cash in compliance with the County and State cash handling and receipting procedures;
  • Contributeto the Licensing team by bringing your innovative ideas and can doattitude!

Experience Qualifications Knowledge Skills

You would be great for this role if you:

  • Are ableand confidentinyourability tointerpret applyandfollow rulesregulations codes laws policies procedures and ordinances;
  • Are comfortablewithchangeandcontinuousimprovementinyourdailywork;
  • Have an intermediate or higher level of expertise withMicrosoft Office(especially Excel) as well as accurate cash handling skills;
  • Can coordinateahighvolumeofdiverse assignments andmultiplecompeting priorities with a strong attention to detail and follow-up;
  • Are passionateaboutservingKingCountysdiversecommunity;
  • Have excellentcommunication and customer service skills in order to successfully communicate with a wide audience in varied communication settings.

Supplemental Information

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:

  • Theworkweekis40hourstypicallyMonday-Friday8:00am-5:00pm.
  • This position is onsite in-office at the King County Customer Service Center.
  • Thispositionisovertimeeligibleand maybemandatoryattimes.
  • ThispositionisrepresentedbytheTeamsters Local117AdministrativeEmployeesunion.
  • Due to this positions access to sensitive records and systems the successful candidate will be required to pass a thorough criminal background and reference check.
  • Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL) Vehicle Licensing Representative Title Certification desirable.

About The Records and Licensing Services Division (RALS) is a division of theDepartment of Executive Services.

RALS operates within a statutory framework that is prescribed by state law and county code. Many of the services administered by the division are mandated by state law and are provided in King County on a regional basis across jurisdictional boundaries. RALS also provides certain local services to unincorporated King County and by contract with many local municipalities throughout King County.
