Job Description

Salary - $14 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the Youth Employment Manager administratively with the daily operations of the department as well as engaging in some planning coordinating and support of programs/activities/events for the department. This position will work in partnership with 2 additional Youth Employment Coordinators to promote and implement department initiatives.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with administrative operations of the department including survey administration and tracking OKRs & KPIs for the program
  • Assist in the production and dissemination of printed and electronic marketing of department programs.
  • Assists with department events ensuring attendees have a positive experience at activities/events
  • Helps plan coordinate implement and evaluate activities programs and/or events
  • Helps department maintain organization and office operations
  • Passion for working with young people and a commitment to promoting their positive development
  • Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with community organizations

NON-ESSENTIAL/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student in good standing working toward a degree
  • Returning to school for the Spring 2025 Semester
  • Some knowledge of City or County government a plus.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Ability to deal effectively with the public; either through individuals or agencies.
  • Ability to administrate coordinate programs and communicate effectively; both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to think creatively by developing designing or offering insight in creating appropriate programming.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and meet designated timelines
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office and Google Suite

CERTIFICATES LICENCE REGISTRATION: Valid drivers license or ability to obtain one required.

EQUIPMENT: Desktop and laptop computer telephone copier/printer and recreational equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in an office setting or in the field with moderate inside or outside temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office and moderately loud in the field. Entire facility inside and outside is smoke free.
