You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThis position coordinates and oversees the financial and fiscal operations of the Office of Tourism.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.
Responsible for accuracy of monthly financial report through oversight and reconciliation of monthly budget report created through AZ360
Distribute to appropriate cost centers and meet regularly with all budget managers to address concerns
Responsible for agencys financial fiscal budgeting processes and all necessary record keeping
Responsible for the accuracy and prompt processing of all agency travel claim
Manage all agency accounting functions and supervise accounting staff
Provide regular training to staff to ensure SAAM compliance
Agency lead for staff travel policy and procedures
Knowledge:
Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) principles and the Arizona Financial Information System
The principles concepts practices methods and techniques of government accounting
Skills:
Interpreting and applying policies procedures and standards to specific situations strong oral and written communication skills
Techniques required to maintain accounting records through automated accounting systems
Analysis interpretation and communication of financial data
Ability:
To use initiative and judgment to make sound decisions and meet performance standards
Analyze data and information using established criteria in order to determine outcomes
Work and communicate effectively with all levels of the agency
CPA
Bachelors degree in Accounting or closely related field required
One year of accounting supervisory experience
