Job Description

The Program Advisor will function as the Career Coach Program Advisor for the Office of Career Ready Pathways in the Arkansas Department of Education - Division of Career and Technical Education (ADE-DCTE). The Program Advisor will work closely with Career Ready Pathways Coordinator to serve as a liaison between the Arkansas Department of Education - Division of Career and Technical Education (ADE-DCTE) career coaches host site supervisor superintendents principals counselors and finance personnel in Arkansas public schools and business and industry partners on issues related to the Arkansas Career Coach program.

Frequent in-state and some out-of-state travel will be required. Overnight travel throughout the year is necessary to provide career coach training technical assistance and program evaluation.

Minimum Qualifications

The formal education equivalent of a bachelors degree in education business administration or a field directly related to the assigned program area; plus two years of experience in education or directly related to the assigned program area. Teaching license preferred. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements except for certification or licensure requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  1. The Career Coach Program Advisor assists the Career Ready Pathways Coordinator as they review and approve new expanded or existing programs for the Arkansas Career Coach program to meet the needs of students the host institution school district and industry.
  2. The Career Coach Program Advisor assists the Host Site Supervisor with the administration of their Career Coaches.
  3. The Career Coach Program Advisor assists the Host Site Finance Personnel with the required reimbursement documentation.
  4. Interpret and apply laws regulations and procedures regarding the administration of Arkansas Career Coach programs.
  5. Proposes and monitors legislation which affects the Arkansas Career Coach program.
  6. Formulates and recommends policies and procedures for new or revised programs or activities to the host site supervisor for implementation in local schools and monitors the implementation and data reporting process.
  7. Provides guidance and assistance to career coaches in the delivery of services assists in establishing priorities preparation of individual budgets and justifies budget requests to provide necessary resources.
  8. Manages the development and/or revision of the Arkansas Career Coach grant in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education-Division of Career and technical Education host supervisors career coaches superintendents principals and industry partners.
  9. Reviews program annually according to Arkansas Department of Education-Division of Career and Technical Education school district host site and industry need.

The Career Coach Program Advisor must demonstrate initiative as a self-starter be analytically astute exercise responsible discretion and judgment and be highly motivated to achieve performance expectations with minimal supervision. Attention to detail is critical as this professional will review program services and financial reports.

A high level of integrity and initiative are essential to be successful as the Program Advisor. The candidate musteffectively communicate orally and in writing. Management and organizational skills proficient application of Microsoft Office products especially Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint are essential. Knowledge of and the effective application of grammar punctuation and syntax rules is preferred. Public presentation experience is greatly needed inproviding professional development opportunities; promoting the Arkansas Career Coach Program professional organizations and technical assistance.
