The Opportunity:
We are looking for versatile curious and energetic Data Engineers who thrive on solving complex challenges on a global scale. As a Data Engineer at Visa you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team working on architecting intricate big data systems and developing diverse analytical practices to address complex data challenges. You will leverage your comprehensive knowledge of ETL and data engineering techniques to develop and maintain data and tools that provide self-service capabilities to business users. While solving or consuming large transactional data you will work with powerful payment technology and witness your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions. Your ability to work across functions and teams will drive results and foster a culture of engineering excellence and innovation. Key Responsibilities :

Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines ETL processes and data warehousing solutions.
Ensure data security and compliance with best practices and regulations.
Utilize tools like Spark Hadoop Hive Scala Python and SQL for data analysis and processing.
Apply knowledge of Agentic AI and Generative AI models including GPT-3 and GPT-4 to develop innovative data solutions.
Create innovative prototypes and regularly influence senior leadership through continuous prototyping.
Work effectively both as a team member and independently with minimal supervision.

Language Expertise:
Expertise in one or more general development languages (e.g. Python Java Spark)
Experience in solving data problems using technologies such as Hadoop Hive and Spark.Builder: Experience building and deploying modern services and web applications with quality and scalability
Learner: Constant drive to learn new technologies such as data models data mining and segmentation methods along with proficiency in developing scalable platforms from scratch including architecture design implementation and deployment.
Partnership: Experience collaborating with Product Data Analysts and Agile/Scrum teams to provide data insights and support analytical needs.
**We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didnt work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications:
2 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree OR 5 years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD)
Enthusiastic energetic and self-learning candidates with loads of curiosity and flexibility.
Proven hands-on capability in the development of data pipelines and data engineering.
Experience in creating data-driven business solutions and solving data problems using technologies such as Hadoop Hive and Spark.
Ability to program in one or more scripting languages such as Python and one or more programming languages such as Java or Scala.
Familiarity with AI-centric libraries like TensorFlow PyTorch and Keras.
Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and statistical models is beneficial.
Critical ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights. This encompasses statistical analysis predictive modeling and data visualization.
Extended experience in Agile Release Management practices governance and planning.
Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead global cross-functional teams.
