Job Description
The Deputy Director of Investigations manages a team of Ethics and Compliance Professionals provides policy and staffing recommendations to the Title IX/EEO Officer and acts as the Title IX/EEO Designee and supports the Title IX/EEO Officer in providing oversight and compliance of harassment discrimination sexual harassment sexual violence and retaliation as defined by University and federal policies and regulations including Title VII and Title IX for UCSF. The incumbent serves as a subject-matter expert on all related laws and regulations as well as institutional policies and procedures and leads activities related to audit evaluation correction monitoring review and investigation to ensure consistent and quality institutional prevention and response to reports and issues. The incumbent advises the Title IX/EEO Officer or on campus issues training and compliance. The incumbent oversees all formal investigations ensuring investigations adhere to University federal and state policy and regulations and are completed within their designated timeframes. The incumbent performs investigations as necessary to meet institutional demands. The incumbent also oversees investigations assigned to external investigators to assure adherence to UC polices and procedural guideline.
The incumbent also conducts extensive research on state and federal laws regarding discrimination and equal opportunity laws and regulations and develops and implements training programs and workshops designed to educate the University community about sexual violence discrimination and harassment prevention and response.
The incumbent represents OPHD in various university internal external and systemwide meetings as a subject matter expert. Responsible for the resolution of all formal complaints of harassment discrimination sexual harassment sexual violence and retaliation. Serves as the primary point of contact for all relevant internal parties at UCSF and/or external representatives ensuring professional and timely communications. Acts as a resource and provides advice and assistance on highly sensitive or difficult harassment discrimination sexual harassment sexual violence and retaliation related matters as well as complex matters of law and policy. Consults with Campus Human Resources Risk Management Office of Legal Affairs Academic Units Academic Affairs UC San Francisco Police Department and other UC administrators and departments as appropriate in resolution of harassment discrimination sexual harassment sexual violence and retaliation complaints. Provides expert-level knowledge in a compliance specialty program or multiple programs. Ensures the location has comprehensive procedures for investigations and coordinated responses with other compliance programs as necessary. Works on most complex issues with limited or no precedent where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $113500 - $258100 (Annual Rate).

The OPHD is also responsible for assuring OFCCP compliance and the completion of the annual Affirmative Action report.
