As an embedded software development engineer you will lead the design implementation and delivery of software in ambiguous and complex problem spaces. You will be working with an assorted set of stakeholders across organization such as product and program management teams and UX teams. You will influence the technology decisions that will drive future products and features that directly affect our growth in this critical space.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide system-wide view and design guidance and drive engineering best practices and set standards for other engineers in the team
Work with product management and cross-functional teams to build and ship technical solutions for the best customer experiences
Break down complex software project into parallel work that can be performed by you and other SDEs and then reassembled successfully into a cohesive launch
Participate in the hiring process as well as mentor others - improving their skills their knowledge of your software and their ability to get things done.

As a Sr. Software Development Engineer
You will lead the design implementation and delivery of software in ambiguous and complex problem spaces.
You will be working with an assorted set of stakeholders across organization such as product program management and UX teams.
You will influence the technology decisions that will drive future products and features that directly affect our growth in this critical space.
About the team
Alexa Autos vision is to bring the Alexa experience into the car so you can take her with you on the go. Voice technology shines in environments where youre occupied with other tasks. Thats a big reason why Alexa has become so popular in places like the kitchen or living room and why we see the opportunity in automotive as big as the smart home. With Alexa in the car customers can use their voice to play music control in-cabin comfort features like AC/heater control smart home devices from the car and access tens of thousands of skills built by third-party developers all while keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
