Do you have a passion for order logistics and a low-key love for well-organized parking lots Are you the type of person who notices when a sign is a few inches off or a light bulb is out SIUE is looking for a Parking Pro with leadership chops to help keep campus movingliterally.

As the Coordinator of Parking and Traffic (CS25-262) youll be the behind-the-scenes hero of campus operations leading a team of Parking Services Agents keeping our lots safe our systems running and our events flowing smoothly. From emergency phones to LED signs from scheduling staff to solving tech issuesyoull wear a lot of hats (and probably a reflective vest or two).

What Youll Be Doing:
  • Lead the crew. Supervise schedule train and support the Parking Services Agent (PSA) teamfrom hiring to performance reviews and everything in between.

  • Keep campus safe and smooth. Oversee routine inspections of parking lots signs sidewalks and lighting; work with Facilities and Risk Management to resolve safety issues and maintenance needs.

  • Be the phone fixer. Test and report issues with campus Emergency Phones to keep the communication lines open and reliable.

  • Tech troubleshooter. Perform maintenance on pay machines ensure the Mobile Pay app is functional and collaborate with vendors to solve software and hardware problems.

  • LPR system savant. Handle routine maintenance and minor repairs for the License Plate Recognition system and assist with RMA processing.

  • Regulations guru. Collaborate with the Director of Parking on traffic rules training materials and policy updates. Keep things fair and clear for everyone.

  • Event MVP. Be the on-the-ground leader for major campus eventscreating parking plans managing traffic flow and making sure guests park happy.

  • Closures & construction helper. Help block off areas for repairs and lot maintenanceeven if it means early mornings or late nights.

  • Sign boss. Manage LED signs across campuskeeping messages fresh relevant and typo-free.

  • Citation pro. Issue parking citations as neededespecially in high-stakes zones. Keep the peace with professionalism and tact.

  • Front-line support. Back up our customer service rep with permit sales citation payments appeals and day-to-day questions.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience in traffic engineering public works traffic enforcement parking management or parking/traffic pattern layout or design.
  • Customer service is required.
  • Basic knowledge of parking lot construction.
  • Must be mechanically inclined with the ability to solve simple to complex problems.
  • Very good communication skills with an emphasis on problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to effectively supervise lower level employees.
  • Basic knowledge of basic computer programs such as Word Excel etc.
