Join Amazons Global Logistics team as a Data Scientist and drive operational excellence through advanced analytics. Youll leverage your passion for optimizing business processes and performance metrics to identify high-impact opportunities. In this role youll design and implement scalable solutions dive deep into complex data and communicate insights that shape the future of our global logistics network.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement data-driven approaches to support decision-making across the business
- Apply a range of scientific techniques to solve complex business problems with unclear solutions
- Develop and automate large-scale analyses using SOTA algorithms and tools
- Validate findings against alternative approaches and key performance indicators
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to drive improvements and prioritize customer needs
A day in the life
As a Data Scientist in Global Logistics youll start your day by reviewing the latest data trends and system performance metrics. You might collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand operational challenges then dive into data analysis using advanced statistical methods. Youll develop models to optimize logistics processes present findings to business partners and work on implementing solutions that directly impact Amazons global supply chain efficiency.

- 3 years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL) scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R SAS Matlab etc.) experience
- 3 years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques and parameters that affect their performance experience
- Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment
- Experience in Python Perl or another scripting language
- Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
