Job Description
Overview
Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a 370-bed not-for-profit Level 2 Trauma Center located in Carmichael California serving the areas of north Sacramento County and south Placer County for more than 50 years. Responsibilities
Under general medical and supervisory direction administers the full range of respiratory care modalities in the NICU environment. Initiates and terminates mechanical ventilation per NICU protocol or physician orders. Operates and maintains blood gas analyzer. Provides quality respiratory care
services including routine and complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures designed to evaluate stabilize prevent or remedy neonatal pulmonary abnormalities. Utilizes a multi-disciplinary plan of care including respiratory care protocols assesses indications initiates appropriate therapeutic interventions and evaluates anticipated outcomes. Acts as a clinical resource person to department and hospital patient care team. Provides education to patients and their families.

Qualifications
Experience:
- 2 years minimum acute care experience with 1 year of critical care experience.
- Level III NICU
Education:
- Completion of an AMA approved respiratory therapy program
Licensure:
- Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner with the State of California. NRP based on facility requirements.
- BLS-CPR;NRP; RESP-LIC:CA
Special Skills:
- STABLE certification and transport training with full competency required within 9 months of hire.
- Transport Experience Preferred
