Description

Summary

The Engineer II will provide efficient solutions to the development of processes and equipment relating to the manufacturing of high pressure cylinder. They will be responsible for the designing and implementation of mechanical and electromechanical systems and components to improve safety reliability and product throughput. It will their duty to oversee the build installation and implementation of new equipment and processes to accomplish this goal.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret as well as create blueprints technical drawings schematics and reports.
  • Be able to lead projects both in-house as well as directing contracted builds.
  • To apply knowledge of engineering principles to the design repair and analysis of equipment failure.
  • Works closely with production and maintenance to implement operating procedures to resolve system malfunctions.
  • Estimates cost and submits bid/budgets for the build rebuild or repair of equipment.
  • Be CAD based software. Both 2D and 3D modeling.
  • Confers with other engineers and personnel as a team when designing and problem solving.

Will be responsible to directs assigned maintenance personal as well as outside contracted help or vendors.

Environmental Conditions

  • Work environment is indoor/outdoor at an industrial manufacturing plant.
  • Mechanical and electrical hazards exist in a manufacturing environment including moving parts and objects high-powered machinery sharp metal shavings blades tools etc.
  • Temperatures in manufacturing work area can exceed 90F throughout the work year.
  • Moderate-to-high noise from machinery and/or tool use can be expected during shift when working in manufacturing facility.

Physical Demands

  • Standing/walking continuously throughout the shift.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of repetitive reaching twisting bending and/or other awkward movements.
  • Able to work at heights above ground level.

Sensory/Cognitive Demands

  • Communicate with manager and co-workers.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Maintain a high-level of focus and organization on assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrate skills knowledge and understanding of general engineering principals.
  • Be flexible with changing engineering needs.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.


Requirements

Education/Work Experience Requirements

BS (minimum) degree in an engineering discipline is required.

  • Related work experience.
  • Working knowledge of computer application software such as Pro Engineer SolidWorks AutoCAD and MS Office.
  • Experience with writing SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for new machines and processes.
  • Desired skills Experience and safe operation of Milling machines and Lathes as well and the ability to Weld.
