Amazon World Wide Grocery Store tech (WWGST) Orgs vision is to be the most loved grocer on earth saving customers time and money. As part of Culinary Tech within WWGST org we focus on building automation for the prepared food production for both Store Kitchens and a new formats of centralized Kitchen facilities serving tasty/safe food to our customers. We invest in building unified tech primitives for recipe management and food production serving all banners ie Whole Foods Amazon Fresh and Amazon GO. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer with expertise and passion to imagine build and develop innovative products to accelerate the Kitchen Facility Automation.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for a creative customer- and details-obsessed Software Development Engineer familiar with building applications in Java C C# or Python. You need to have strong software engineering fundamentals (object-oriented design algorithms and data structures) and a good grasp of advanced systems concepts and design. We need someone who loves learning and wants to work with an experienced team in a quick moving agile and highly collaborative environment.
Key job responsibilities
As a Software Engineer you will be expected to:
Design and develop creative solutions to complex engineering problems.
Effectively mentor junior engineers helping to maintain appropriate unit test coverage code documentation software structure and support
Own and deliver end to end key initiatives maintaining effective communication with management and stakeholders
Identify evaluate and suggest mitigation strategies for risks during design
Contribute to system design process and development standards documentation
Delivering high quality code on time as part of a cross-functional team.
Contributing to team discussions around system component design improvement and integration.
Designing and developing high performance test-driven code.
Working with and maintaining a large existing code base as well as new components; maintaining production code and contributing to deployment and QA processes.
- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
