Job Description

Summary

SXU faculty are dedicated to high-quality teachingforits diverse student population. We strive tofacilitatestudent success in learning and to meet the individual educational needs ofeach individualwithin our student body.

The successful adjunct candidate will be committed to teaching in a multicultural environment and welcome the opportunity to work with students with diverse learning abilities. Opportunities may exist to teach a flexible schedule that may include teaching assignments during days evenings and weekends as needed.Adjuncts can teach up to two sections of undergraduatecourses per semester.

Adjuncts are paid by stipend on a biweekly basis beginning on the first payroll following the course add/drop date.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Adjunct Faculty instructors at Saint Xavier Universityare responsible forcourse planning and instruction in classroom laband/or clinical settings.Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes such asin-person online hybrid and/or blended formats with a preference towards in-person instruction. In addition adjunct facultyare responsible forstudentevaluationdepartmental communicationandtimelyandaccuratesubmission of required paperwork related to instruction.

Qualifications

Doctorate in psychology or a closely related preferred; Masters degree acceptable

Enthusiasm for collegiate teaching

Availability to teach face-to-face at any of the following times:

o PSYCH 110: Psychology in Film: M 2-450pm T 2-450pm W 2-450pm Th 2-450pm

o PSYCH 120: Psychology in Your Life: MW 2-320pm 330-450pm; TTH 11-1220pm 1230-150pm; TTHpm
