Job Description

This is a part time (0.6 FTE / 3 days per week) contract position (3 years).

The Workforce and Economic Participation Lead supports the growth of employment business and training opportunities through the Aboriginal Cultural Centre Yitpi Yartapuultiku.

The role focuses on strengthening Aboriginal economic participation building local workforce capability and supporting cultural enterprise and tourism initiatives. Working with community business education providers and government partners the role contributes to the Centres vision for cultural social and economic empowerment.

As the Workforce and Economic Participation Lead you will:

  • Develop and deliver workforce and business development initiatives linked to the Cultural Centres strategic goals.
  • Build strong partnerships with Aboriginal businesses entrepreneurs training providers and employers.
  • Support programs that grow cultural tourism creative industries and Aboriginal enterprise opportunities.
  • Assist with grant applications reporting and partnerships that advance employment and economic outcomes.
  • Advocate for Aboriginal workforce needs in collaboration with Council community and government stakeholders.
  • Promote culturally appropriate employment and training pathways across priority sectors.
  • Provide advice and support to integrate economic development activities into broader Cultural Centre programs.

Wed love to hear from you if you have:

  • Connection to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultures.
  • Experience in workforce development economic development business support or related fields preferably within Aboriginal or community-focused contexts.
  • Proven ability to build effective partnerships with Aboriginal communities businesses training providers and government agencies.
  • A passion for Aboriginal cultures economic participation priorities and the role of cultural enterprises in community development.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to design deliver and evaluate programs that achieve workforce and economic outcomes.

This is a Level 6 position which has a current salary range of $67437 $72119 per annum (0.6 FTE) plus Superannuation.
