Job Description

Were thrilled to expand our inpatient care services by offering on-site dialysis for the very first time and were looking for a passionate skilled dialysis nurse to help us launch this exciting new chapter. This is your chance to make an immediate impact bring dialysis care closer to home and be part of a milestone moment for our patients and our award-winning hospital and team. Temporary assignment permanent pride. This temporary position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the foundational stages of a vital healthcare service.

SUMMARY: Provides direct patient care in the acute care departments. Communicates with physicians nurses and other staff about patients clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patients condition. Additionally is cross trained to perform general nursing duties in other departments and may be asked to do any reasonable job duty within scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer hemodialysis treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and responses during treatments ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Educate patients and their families about dialysis procedures kidney disease management and lifestyle modifications.
  • Set up operate and maintain dialysis equipment ensuring proper sterilization and functionality.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient records documenting treatments and observations.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new staff members as the program expands.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and healthcare standards.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Six months nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in dialysis nursing.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory and/or accreditation standards.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency with dialysis equipment and electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
