Job Summary and Responsibilities
Join our team as a Mental Health Technician and contribute to the well-being of our this role you will be an integral part of the healthcare team providing direct patient care and supportive services under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. This position requires access to keys for the locked unit and patient belongings safe ensuring the safety and security of our patients and their belongings.
- Assist with patient/family care needs from admission to discharge.
- Monitor patient on Q15 min. observations including (Q5 LOS and 1:1 obs.)
- Accurately monitor and record patient VS and intake and output and daily activities including patio breaks.
- Assist Nurses with patient care to include Groups Activities of daily living as needed
- Must be able to effectively communicate with patients in crisis situations and assist RNs with restraining patients
- Assist in maintaining adequate stocks and supplies items
- Assist with cleaning functions to maintain unit
- Keep medical record updated including legal requirements
- Documents according to policy and procedure standards and guidelines
Job Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent required
- Minimum of one (1) year mental health worker experience working with psychiatric patients either in an inpatient or residential setting required.
- Current AHA BLS card.
- Must maintain current Fire Safety cards.
- CNA or EMT Preferred
