Jesuit Dallas Social Studies TeacherJesuit Dallas is seeking a qualified and innovative educator to teach high school Social Studies in a Catholic all-male setting. Successful candidates will possess a passion for forming adolescents engaging in life-long learning and collaborating with peers in the pursuit of the schools mission. This teacher will be expected to:
- Form and educate young men to be open to growth intellectually competent loving religious committed to working for justice and physically fit.
- Teach in cooperation with course level teams five sections of Social Studies to include World History and United States History.
- Collaborate with members of the Social StudiesDepartment in on-going curriculum development and review.
- Participate in all departmental and school-wide faculty formation.
- Engage in on-going professional development.
- Participate in student-centered co-curricular extra-curricular service and/or retreat opportunities.
Qualifications- Undergraduate degree in History Governmentor a related field;
- Advanced degree preferred;
- Experience working with a Standards Aligned Curriculum preferred.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Ability to coach high school wrestling or swimmingpreferred.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment- Works in a fast-pacedenvironment dealing with a wide variety of challenges deadlines and a diverse array of contacts;
- May work at a desk and computer for an extended period of time;
- Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
